App audit

Flutter app audit: know what you are standing on

You inherited a Flutter app, or your team built it and something feels off. Before you commit a budget to a rewrite, you need to know which problems are real, which are cosmetic and which one is quietly blocking your next release.

What the audit gives you

  • A written review of the architecture and how it will behave as the product grows
  • The concrete risks: dependency health, abandoned packages, licence and store compliance
  • Performance reality on a real device, not a local build that looks fine
  • An honest verdict on what is salvageable and what should be replaced
  • A prioritised fix plan: what to do first, what to ignore, what it will cost
  • A call to walk through it, with your team in the room if you want

How it runs

  1. 01

    Access

Repository access, a build that runs, and the two or three things that worry you most.

  2. 02

    Read and run

I read the code the way a person taking it over would, and I run the app on a device instead of trusting the simulator.

  3. 03

    Report

A written report ordered by impact, written so a non-technical founder can use it in a decision.

  4. 04

    Walkthrough

A call to go through it and answer the questions the report raises. Optional follow-up work stays optional.

Timeline

A focused audit takes about a week, depending on codebase size. You get the report and the call, and there is no obligation to hire me afterwards.

Proof, not promises

Products that survived the scrutiny I apply to an audit.

Questions about the audit

Do you fix the problems or only report them?

Either. The report stands on its own so another developer can act on it. If you want me to do the work, that becomes a separate engagement with its own scope.

Will you tell me my app needs a rewrite?

Only if it is true. Most apps I look at need targeted surgery, not a rewrite, and telling you otherwise is how consultants sell six months you do not need.

What do you need from me?

Repository access, a build that runs and 45 minutes to explain what the product has to do next. Without that context an audit becomes a code review with no business meaning.

Is it confidential?

Yes. I work under NDA, the report is yours, and I do not reuse your code or your numbers.

Inherited an app and unsure what to do?

Send me the repository and the release you are trying to ship. I will tell you what the audit would need to cover.
